If you’re looking for a fun-filled day out with the kids, Sentosa is the perfect spot. With plenty of activities and attractions geared towards young children, Sentosa is a great place to tire out your little ones!

We first visited Sentosa Island in 2019. At that time, we were a family of 3. Our daughter was one year and 7 months. We only spent one day at Sentosa Island, but after discovering so many things to do there, I promised to go back and just explore Sentosa Island!

That’s exactly what we did this month! We spent 5 nights and 6 days in Singapore. 4 of those 5 days were spent exploring Sentosa! I truly believe Sentosa Island is the best and safest place to explore with your kids this 2022!

Why Sentosa is Perfect for Toddlers

First of all, it’s stroller-friendly. There are wide sidewalks and plenty of space for strollers. There are ramps and elevators all over the place, and you can explore the entire island in strollers!

Second, there are a ton of kid-friendly activities! Universal Studios tops the list, but there are tons of free stuff like walking on the beach.

It’s easy to get around. We checked in at Hotel Michael in Resort’s World, and everything is literally within walking distance. For example, we could even see Universal Studios from our hotel window. We can walk there in 5 minutes! We booked our hotel in Klook and got a great deal.

Sentosa For 2-Year-Old

While there are plenty of activities in Sentosa, not all of them will be available for two-year-olds. For example, there are only a few rides that they can ride in Universal Studios and Adventure Cove Waterpark.

Here are the activities that became a hit with our two-year-old.

Wings of Time

This was the most memorable show that I saw when we went to Sentosa Island for the first time. Wings of Time is a one-of-a-kind show by the beach that showcases a tale about a time-traveling giant bird. It combines lights, fireworks, and clever projections!

So, when we went back, this was definitely on our itinerary! I wasn’t sure if the kids would love it, especially our two-year-old boy. But he did!

And according to him, “It was the coolest watch ever.” He doesn’t know the word “show” yet! He was clapping and jumping up and down during the show.

Minion’s Perspective

This is a must-visit attraction if you have toddlers or even older kids that are obsessed with minions. It’s near S.E.A. Aquarium, so you can bundle these activities together on the same day.

It’s a fairly new attraction, so everything is nice and clean! There are plenty of interactive games, art installations, and scenes from the films that you can relive.

My only complaint is that there are so many “Don’t touch” signs. It’s pretty stressful if you have a toddler who wants to keep touching stuff.

S.E.A. Aquarium

I’m a big fan of aquariums, so this was also a must-visit on our list. Our two-year-old was a big fan of it, too, as it turned out! He slept most of the time, but we had to wake them up when we reached the biggest aquarium. He was in awe seeing the big fish and a treasure chest!

If you go between September and October, they also have trick or treating where kids get candies.

Sentosa Bus Tour

We almost didn’t go through with the bus tour because it was raining hard, but I was so glad we made it happen! There were no other people on the bus with us, so it ended up like a private tour.

We did the bus tour at 9:45 am and finished around 11 am. It finished earlier than usual because we didn’t have to wait for other passengers.

During the bus tour, we visited:

  • Fort Siloso — You ride the elevator to the top and get a nice view of Sentosa Island.
  • Palawan Beach — This was the kids’ favorite! They got to dig and run around.
  • Resort World — Since our hotel was at Resort World, the tour guide agreed to make it the last stop.

Madame Tussauds

This was something we missed the first time we went to Sentosa, so that’s why we added this as part of our first-day itinerary. The kids didn’t like it as much! Our four-year-old who was sensitive to sound, ended up being scared by some of the installations.

Make sure to do the photo shoot with the green screen. It’s hard to take photos with toddlers, but it’s still fun!

Luckily, we did the Marvel 4D show, and they absolutely loved it! I was surprised that our two-year-old could sit through the whole thing. And according to him, “It was the coolest thing ever!”

Cable Car Ride

Our two-year-old begged us to ride the “helicopters.” But he meant cable car! Later he learned the correct word. He begged us to ride the cable car every day!

So, this is a must-do if you have toddlers! You can get cable car tickets on Klook. Just make sure that you use it on the same day!

Activities for 4-year-olds in Sentosa Singapore

Both our kids pretty much loved doing anything in Sentosa. But certain attractions were memorable and more fun to them.

Universal Studios

For our four-year-old daughter, Universal Studios was the best one! When we first went here in 2019, she was less than two years old. So, she didn’t get to ride all the cool stuff!

But now, she was able to meet most of the height requirements! She even got to ride the popular Transformers ride.

Because we didn’t have grandparents, we decided to get an Express Pass to breeze through the rides.

My husband would go with our daughter first, and if she wanted to have another ride, she would ride with me.

You can also get Universal Studios and Express Pass tickets on Klook.

Adventure Cove Waterpark

This was a hit for both of our kids! There were plenty of rides that were not accessible to both 2 and 4-year-olds, but there were plenty of things to do! We spent a lot of time in the big pool with the waves.

We spent the day here from 10 am to 3 pm. There are other activities, such as swimming with dolphins, but we just went with the basic ticket.

They have an area called Rainbow Reef where you can go snorkeling. They let our four-year-old go with me because she met the height requirement, but my daughter kept flopping around. We had to be fished out by the lifeguard. As it turned out, she was freaked out by the saltwater!

Are there Sentosa Kid-friendly Restaurants?

We didn’t eat at any restaurants on Sentosa Island. We ordered Grab Food in our hotel for lunch and dinner. We know our kids well. When they are hungry and tired, they are not on their best behavior, and it’s pretty stressful when you are in a restaurant.

We had many trips in the Philippines, where we learned that eating in a hotel room is better.

But luckily, everywhere in Singapore is pretty much kid friendly. When you eat at a restaurant, they immediately give the kids their non-breakable cutlery.

Back in Sentosa

Although we spent almost the whole week in Sentosa, there are still plenty of things to discover! I can see our family visiting it again in the future. Maybe next time, they will meet all the height requirements!
